12/9/12 from Mom

Good afternoon. Shane did not have a very good night. He had a fever of 103, so the staff was checking him all night and he was unable to rest very much. The fever has been up and down. Currently it is 100. Blood cultures are being tested as well as urine cultures to see if they can locate a possible infection. His back is a little red around the incision. His antibiotic has been changed to a stronger one to treat this possible infection. By late this afternoon he was feeling a little more rested. We will have to wait until tomorrow for the cultures to come back from the lab. One day at a time is how we must proceed. Praying that there is no serious infection in his body and that the insurance will make the right decision for our 20 year old son.

  1. “Trust in the Lord with All of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, but in All of your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your path straight”. Trust God, He has Everything in control.

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

    – Shane you are coantly in my prayers. I love you with all my heart and look up to you so much. You are strong and you will make it. “Just gotta show up šŸ˜‰ “.

You have a great family. Mom, dad, & Chelsea, you are doing a great job. You are a true example of what a family is and should be and how they should always stick together. You all are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. Love you all.

  2. Shane’s Recovery is our prayer, what a journey. To look at the photos of him outside with Chelsea and with his friends is sure uplifting. These bumps against progress with the fever and the therapy are difficult. Our prayers continue for Shane. Jack, Jorge L. sends his prayers.

  3. Sending prayers for positive results from these recent bumps along the way. Always looking forward to a complete recovery for Shane. Love to all.

  4. Praying for the insurance to come through right now and for continued healing for Sahane, and strength for the entire family.

  5. You are all in our prayers. Richard is recovering now too from his November 29 laparoscopic surgery to destroy a 5.8 x 6.7 cm tumor in his liver with radio frequency ablation. There was no cancer, praise God, but he still has a terrible cough from the airway having been in his throat. I guess there are lots of problems that happen just from being in the hospital and not necessarily from the injury or disease that a patient has. So, we understand, and we are praying that Shane will avoid any other problems not related to his injury.
