Monday night update-10-15-2012; from Dad

Shane had a very restful day after his trachea procedure and they expect that to continue through the night. Quite frankly, he has a lot of medication in his system that is sufficient to knock out even the best of us. They have begun the reduction of certain meds which should be done in slow increments; they don’t want to have a sudden drop which could have undesirable results. He looks very good; the nurse said he is in need of a shave which will happen probably tonight. Knowing Shane he would be in full agreement with this decision; it’s been about 2.5 weeks since his last.

The nurse told me tonight that during one of his awakened moments he knew he was in a very bad car accident and he stated a couple of times that he almost died. All along we were not sure what he knew if anything: it appears that he does have some knowledge of what occurred and it may explain some of his agitated behavior. Hopefully, in the next couple of days we can start moving beyond this stage and start working towards him coming to.

We are truly believing that the next couple of days will be full of good report. Thanks again for all of your love, support and prayer!

The fact that he spoke to the nurse and has had some communication is great. It’s so encouraging to hear. Prayers and support for all of you as he awakens. Love & Hugs, Pat & Kevin

  7. From my favorite song that I have sung at the top of my lungs for the past few years….it’s my “strength prayer”…..”hide me in your heart oh Lord, hold me in your arms. still the wind and calm the storm….hide me in your heart. The ocean is deep, the valley is wide. I can’t help but wonder what’s on the other side. but I’ll trust in you my shelter and friend ………” (city on a hill).
    Blessings and love.

  8. He’s a fighter…so happy that you all had a better day…keeping him and your family in my thoughts and prayers…

  9. Your messages have touched so many of us in these events of Shane’s recovery. I pray every night for Shane and I know he will make through this. I realize how much of a struggle it is to see a loved one go through these challenges but in time, it will all be worth it. Shane is a very strong young man and we are ALL looking forward to his complete and full recovery. Please keep posting. We are all rooting for him. ❤

  10. Dearest Gail and Family,
Know that our thoughts and prayes are with you, and Shane’s full recocery.

GO GENTLY THROUGH THIS DAY,keeping your eyes on Me. I will open up the way before you, as you take steps of trust along your path.
Sometimes the way before you appears to be blocked. If you focus on the obstacle or search for a way around it, you will probably go off course. Instead focus on Me the Shepherd who is leading you along your life-journey, Before you know it, the “obstacle” will be behind you and you will hardly know how you passed it.
That is the secret of success in My kingdom. Although you remain awre of the visible world around you, your primary awareness is of Me. When the road before you looks rocky, you can trust Me to get you through that rough patch. My presence enables you to face each day with confidence.
