10/12/12. Evening post from Mom

Shane’s surgery today was a little more intense than the Doctors had originally thought. Once they opened him up they realized that his incision had become infected and they had to clean out the infection and stitch him back up. He currently has a wound vac that is draining his incision. Once back from the surgery he began getting a fever which they put him on antibiotics and put a cooling blanket on him. Once the blanket was put on him and he was given Tylenol and an antibiotic the fever began to decrease. His feeding tube was put back in and he was resting when we left the hospital.
